La Vigne Educational House was established in 2014 as a Private School situated in the heart of Durbanville, Western Cape.

Our Motto

“Porter des Fruits” – translated from French – “Bear Fruit”

Our Mission

La Vigne prides itself on providing a well-rounded educational experience for all our learners. Many learners are not coping in mainstream schools, due to various social, academic or emotional reasons that are part of our society today. We strive to educate these learners in a smaller and more intimate environment, to ensure that the learners’ uniqueness and individual needs are understood. This ensures that every learner can develop their own unique abilities and achieve success at their own pace.

Our Vision

La Vigne Educational House is part of a vision to build an
environment for learners where they can learn and thrive in a more home-like atmosphere. We have a strong Christian-ethos. Choosing the right school for your child is vitally important. Most parents want a good education for their children, but they also want them to be happy, feel safe and secure.

Curriculum, Educational Organisation and Teaching Methods

La Vigne Educational House accepts learners from Grade R to Grade 9. La Vigne Learning Centre partnered with Teneo School for Grade 10 – 12. We are a dual medium school that offers teaching in both Afrikaans and English. We specialize in learners with various learning barriers. The smaller classroom environment is in great demand as learners (with or without learning barriers) excel academically and emotionally.

We adapt our classes and teaching style to suit the individual needs of the learners. Guidance is given to our learners to have a better understanding of the work, thus helping them feel more self-confident and allowing them to take pride in their work.

We follow the CAPS syllabus as
required by the WCED

Foundation Phase Curriculum (Grade R to Grade 3)

This phase includes four compulsory subjects:

• First Additional Language

Intermediate Phase Curriculum (Grade 4 to Grade 6)

This phase includes six compulsory subjects:
• Home Language

Senior Phase Curriculum (Grade 7 to Grade 9)

This phase includes nine compulsory subjects:
• Home Language

• Creative Arts (Art and Drama)
• Economic and Management Sciences
